Schets-Sessie 2.0 Assassin

One Saturday a month; illustrators, character artists, art students and serious hobbyists get together for a three hour live drawing session.

It’s an inspiring afternoon in an informal setting. You can draw however you like, with whatever materials you prefer.

This session I sketched with a Platinum Carbon Pen DP-800S and a winsor & newton aquarel marker: Payne’s grey on 115 lbs Clairefontaine paper.

Photos were edited (adjusted the hue and contrast on some) with the iPod touch image editor and watermarked with the halftone 2 app

You can read more about SchetsSessie 2.0 on their Facebook page and see more pics tagged with #schetsessie20 on Instagram.
The next session will be on February 13th.

Dr. Sketchy’s Amsterdam 24th August 2013 (Session 11)

Sometimes I only get around to posting these on the dr. sketchy amsterdam facebook page, because I can send the sketches in and they appear as if by magic. Margreet de Heer is pretty magical, don’t cha agree? Organizing dr. Sketchy’s Amsterdam event, making awesome comics!

So with a slight delay, here are some more sketches of 2013: session 11:

What is a ‘dr. sketchy anti-Art School event?’

The intention is to (speed)draw live models, to enjoy the show the Burlesque artists put on and have a drink & chat while you draw.

Illustrators of all levels are welcome!

Here, you can draw however you like, with whatever materials you prefer. People bring all kinds of drawing implements from pencil, paint to pixels and even paper-cut artwork! There is no ‘strictly enforced method’ to fence in your creativity?

Dr. Sketchy’s Amsterdam 20th December 2013 (session 12)

Friday evening was once more great fun at Dr. Sketchy Amsterdam’s live drawing session and burlesque performance.

The bounty of an evening livedrawing:

I also won a book! Babytattoo is one of the sponsors of dr. Sketchy events world wide, they send books ‘n cool things for the contest.

The contest differs every event. Sometimes you have to draw a pose and improvise on it further on a theme, sometimes you need to change it around. This time we were asked to design a poster for one of the performers.

And this one was voted the winner:
